We rented for a family of 6 and our dog at the Lake House. We had a wonderful time, and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of equipment in the house. My son-in-law is a rower and he brought his single scull with him and had wonderful rows first thing in the morning with the mist and the lake was like glass. We never left the property for the time that we were there, we just wanted somewhere to re-group as a family and read, swim and have a glass of wine. Paddleboards were a big hit. It was so nice being able to take the dog with us, he was pretty relaxed too.

My husband, dog, and I stayed at the Leland Lake house with members of our wine tasting group. We had a fabulous time! While there we enjoyed the well stocked kitchen, comfortable sleeping quarters and outdoors space. We took advantage of the hot tub under the starry skies (with a few dips in the cool lake). We also played badminton, and read in the sun in the porch. Hiked to a waterfall on our way out of town up the Dociwalips River valley. Couldn’t ask for more.

    Great Lake Spot!

Very nice rental property! As described, newly renovated and all new stuff (beds, kitchen, sports gear, etc.). We loved the peaceful lake, lovely grounds, and easy drive to Port Townsend and other peninsula activities. This spot is a real gem, and priced very reasonably.

Really wonderful time! The weather was perfect (which makes any place better, of course), but the sleep spaces were comfortable for everyone, and cooking a complicated dinner for nine was easy. Beautiful quiet mornings with eagle and otter sightings, a delight all the way through. We’ll be back, won’t care if the weather is less perfect.

Great location for a group getaway

We had a fabulous long weekend at the lake house with a group of friends. The cabin has been beautifully updated. Plenty of space to lol about, beautiful lakeside setting, and great kitchen for lots of cooking. Abundant wildlife – including eagles and otters. Easy hop to Port Townsend for farmer’s market and fish market (yes, we like to cook!).

My August stay here with friends was great. The lake water temp and quality were perfect for swimming and paddling. It was very quiet. We enjoyed the hot tub, of course! Not too far from shopping but remote enough to have dark skies for star-gazing. Short drive to a bunch of great hikes.

    Awesome Cabin!

    Awesome Cabin!

I stayed in the Sunrise Cottage next to the Leland Lake house, for new years with my girlfriend and her family. We enjoyed the cozy feel of the cottage, and how peaceful it was hearing the stream nearby first thing in the morning. The hot tub was fantastic as well. We spent most of the time fishing and caught some awesome rainbow trout (even swimming for trout that broke the line). When we weren’t fishing, we were playing with the family dogs in the yard. The cottage and the house are great for a relaxing get away with a nice view. The new owners are putting in a lot of work to update the property and make it even nicer than it was already. I didn’t want to leave, and am looking forward to another trip there soon.

    Wonderful lake house

    Wonderful lake house

Stayed at the lake house for new years with my family. The new owners have done a lot of work updating it and fixing things. It is a wonderful place to stay whether you want to just relax at the lake house or go adventuring around the peninsula. Just a short drive to Port Townsend and a few hours to Rialto beach. I first stayed at the lake house when I was a kid, and it is still one of my favorite places to go. I will definately come back. I’m a teacher now and I can definately say that the Leland lake house is a wonderful place to go to relax and unwind. There is great fishing opportunities, especially rainbow trout. Lots of great hikes nearby as well.

We’ve had some great times at this property over the years, most recently a family reunion in August. It’s a good location and the lake is wonderful for swimming and fishing. Excellent place for families, children, and dogs. Happy to know it’s under new ownership and looking forward to returning this year to see the updates now in progress!

We had a wonderful time staying at the Lake House and in the Sunrise cottage during the wedding weekend of a family member. We swam and played in the water, cooked together, and even hosted a pre wedding dinner. Once or twice a sedan got stuck going too slowly up the steep gravel driveway and had to back up and try again. Momentum was key for the smaller cars making it up successfully.

We just came back from a wonderful relaxing week at the Leland lake house. My husband and I enjoy the lake tremendously! We caught a variety of fish, swam in the clean, warm water and star gazed at night. I had never seen so many stars at one time. The surrounding property was true northwest and absolutely beautiful. The house itself was clean and set up for a perfect lakeside/ mountain vacation. We had deer in the yard that came pretty close, it was surreal! I highly recommend this spot for anyone who needs a relaxing vacation surrounded by the beauty of the Olympics. Thank you do much Kay!
